 Structure Fire with Entrapment!!!

Thursday August 4, 2011 at 1237 the Tones dropped to assist Boswell Fire Department with an electrical fire in the 300 block of Main Street in Boswell Boro. Engine 1 quickly hit the street with 7 and were quickly updated that there was a working fire with entrapment. Engine 1 quickly arrived and were given orders to rescue the trapped person. Crews laddered a second story window as the only starirwell had already collapsed and found that there were 2 persons trapped. We quickly assisted the occupants to safety. Crews immediately then began an aggressive attack on the stubborn fire. Great job by all departments that were assisting Boswell on this job.  

 Water Rescue.

On Saturday July 2, 2011 at approx. 245 P.M. the pagers were alerted for the Somerset County Water Rescue team for a boating accident on the Youghieny Dam. Rescue 3 and Rescue 4 responded and arrived and were given orders to launch our rescue boat and diver and to assist with the search for one victim who was unaccounted for after a boat overturned and ejected all four occupants. 3 of the occupants were rescue by bystanders and were trated and transported to a trauma center. Crews from numerous counties searched the waters for the victim. the search was called off after nightfall and will resume the following day.
